Moomaya was born from a single realization: the most sustainable garment is the one that was never overproduced. Operating under the specialized house of IBA Crafts Private Ltd, we have transitioned entirely away from the carbon-intensive "make-to-stock" model into a data-driven, on-demand ecosystem.
Our commitment to the environment is not a marketing claim β it is a measured technical specification. Our operational model is independently assessed and quantified by the Greenr Sustainability Accelerator, a TechnoServe initiative in partnership with J-PAL and the IKEA Foundation.
We believe in Smart Craft. Every piece in our collection is a testament to the fact that style does not have to come at a biological cost. Our digital printing and JIT process significantly reduce both water consumption and energy use compared to conventional screen printing and fabric dyeing β not as an aspiration, but as a verified operational reality.
By producing only what is ordered, we have removed the cradle-to-grave emissions associated with unsold inventory β a category the industry rarely discusses and almost never measures. We do both.
The result? For the Financial Year 2024β25, our avoided emissions exceeded our operational emissions across Scope 1, 2, and 3 β achieving a net carbon-negative outcome. This magnitude is expected to grow with scale.

By producing only against confirmed orders, we have eliminated the 30% material and product waste typical of conventional bulk manufacturing. Our JIT model means every gram of fibre that enters our facility becomes a garment that reaches a wearer.
Efficiency
Our digital printing technology is significantly less energy- and water-intensive than the screen printing (53%) and fabric dyeing (42%) methods that dominate Indian garment manufacturing. We operate in the 1% β and it changes everything.

We apply a cradle-to-gate assessment to every product we carry. This means the environmental cost of a Moomaya garment is calculated from raw material extraction to the moment it leaves our facility β not as a greenwash exercise, but as an operational discipline.
Our Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions are neutralized by the sheer efficiency of our production line. Every unit produced is a unit sold. Every garment carries intentionality β in its fibre, its process, and its environmental footprint.
