The original shed singlet, in 100% wool. Heavier and coarser than the merino version, and considerably tougher for it — this is the one that survives a full season.
Wool over cotton for the same reason it always was: it insulates when damp, it doesn't hold odour, and it doesn't go cold on you the moment you stop moving.
Generations of shearers have worn this cut. Very little about it has needed changing.
